Get to know us

At La Madería, you quickly meet Martín, a long-time professional in the fields of contracting and space design, whose work reflects his unique blend of Spanish and Uruguayan influences. With an unwavering dedication to craftsmanship, Martin creates remarkable interiors around the coastal towns of Punta del Este.

You will also encounter Verónica, a bilingual interpreter and avid gardener with life experiences spanning East Asia, the USA, and South America. Veronica’s diverse background has helped hone her ability to effortlessly communicate and adapt to different cultures. Creating, designing, and hosting spaces for others to come together has been a lifelong goal for her.

Together, Martín and Verónica merge their individual expertise to provide an unparalleled experience for their guests. Since January of 2020, La Madería has been a dream in the making, and one that is constantly expanding and evolving to best fit the needs of visitors while promoting harmony and tranquility.

The place is unique and a true gem! I would stay there again and again! The hosts feel like lifelong friends, and you can interact with other guests without compromising privacy and tranquility! Martín cooks like a god, and Verónica goes above and beyond for the guests!

You can cook and use the fridge, choosing between preparing your own meals or enjoying the hosts’ dinner offerings… which are spectacular.

Loved the concept about the recycling elements within the beautiful nature of Uruguay.

Location is great and very close to all the activities in La Barra or Manantiales but outside of the busiest areas for a wonderful sleep and relax.

Connection with the owners feels real and truthful, spending the delicious breakfast they carefully make for their guests and just talking to them and talking about anything/everything truly makes you feel welcomed and part of their project.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. I wish I had more time to stay longer but I would definitely come back sometime soon.

This is an amazing space both in nature and living spaces. With independent apartments surrounded by beautiful landscape and a great swimming pool with salty and warm water. Veronica and Martin are super hosts. They are super flexible and own a common space with a beautiful kitchen and living room that you can enjoy and share with the other guests. Veronica and Martin are also super cooks. They provided amazing food, cocktails and wines. I highly recommend this place. FYI the place is handicap accessible and friendly.
